Get the Design Right, First. Our application development strategy is to develop for today, design for tommorrow. In our experience, the applications that last in an organization are the ones where the design team focused on understanding the business first, and designing the application to meet today's requirements with and understanding of tomorrow's vision.
Develop it with Care and Precision, and Continuously Improve. Our method of developing the application is to focus on small, modular, manageable components done right and tested thoroughly. When the code is complete, find ways to continuously improve it by making it more functional, scalable and extensible. Good coding is engineered like you would do a complex jigsaw puzzle. You focus on the smaller regions of the puzzle, slowly putting those regions together, eventually putting the completed regions together to form a single unit.
Keep it Simple. There is lots of information about User Interface Engineering. For us, what it all boils down to is to not challenge the user to figure out how the system works. A really cool interface that takes days for the user to learn how to use and understand is the wrong approach. Our applications don't do everything in a single click. Our applications have a logical flow that allow the user to interact effectively with the technology and get their job done so that they can focus on the information the system is producing, not on the "wizbang" nature of the user interface.

At OTMT, we have taken the " red pill" and have fallen in love with web standards and the concept of separating content from presentation, using Cascading Style Sheets to create semantically correct and functionally rich web based applications. We believe that standards are important for today's users, and the overall future of the web.
We also employ web standards in our development to reduce page weight and speed up your site's response times. Experience has shown that conversion from table-based design to standards-oriented design can reduce page weight by 50% or more. In addition, that same conversion process improves accessibility and makes maintenance easier. It might sound like magic, but the truth is that it's just the way the Web was always supposed to work.

On The Mark Technology was founded in 2004 by Mark Johnson, although Mark has been building dynamic web based applications since 1996.
